Virovitica University of Applied Sciences and Infobip, a global cloud communications platform, have signed a cooperation agreement that further strengthens the connection between higher education and the IT industry, while opening new opportunities for the development of students, faculty, and joint professional activities. This partnership places emphasis on creating an environment in which theoretical knowledge is built upon through practical work and collaborative projects.
The cooperation is focused on the exchange of knowledge and experience through professional and scientific activities, with both institutions jointly developing projects, organising seminars, workshops, and professional conferences, and participating in activities that contribute to strengthening students’ competencies. Particular focus is placed on involving industry experts in the teaching process, giving students the opportunity to learn from practitioners who work daily on cutting-edge technological solutions. Under the agreement, more active collaboration is also planned in shaping thesis topics, so that they are as closely aligned as possible with the real needs of the labor market and current challenges in the business sector. Students will also have the opportunity to participate in field classes and professional visits, and to gain practical experience through internships with the partner, which represents an important step in their professional development and a smoother transition from education into the world of work.
Founded in 2006 as a small startup in Vodnjan, Infobip has grown into Croatia’s first unicorn and one of the largest technology hubs in the region. Today it operates on six continents through more than 70 offices, employs over 3,500 professionals, and develops globally recognised products and services for leading world brands and technology platforms. Through its expertise and international environment, Infobip can provide students with invaluable insight into current IT industry trends and global business processes.
Virovitica University of Applied Sciences, on the other hand, continuously develops a model of professional higher education that bridges academic knowledge with the needs of the economy. Through cooperation with partners from the real sector, the University strives to enable students to acquire applicable knowledge and experience that makes them more competitive in the labour market, and this agreement represents yet another step forward in that direction.
The signed agreement confirms the shared intention of both institutions to create additional value for students, the academic community, and the economy through long-term cooperation, and to jointly contribute to the development of skilled professionals and innovative projects that address the needs of modern society.
