As part of the Erasmus+ programme’s Training and Cooperation Activities (TCA), the Head of the Centre for International Cooperation and Erasmus+ Coordinator, Danijela Vakanjac, participated in the international seminar “Bridging the Gap Between the Education Sector and the Industry”, organized by the Cypriot National Agency. The aim of this event was to explore the role of higher education institutions and vocational education and training providers in aligning educational outcomes with labour market needs.
The entire seminar was held in English and took place in Limassol, Cyprus, from December 3 to 5, 2024. Around 60 participants from various European countries attended, including representatives of higher education institutions, project coordinators, national agencies, government institutions, and vocational education providers. Through lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, participants discussed key challenges and potential solutions for bridging the gap between graduate skills and employer expectations.
The seminar provided a valuable platform for the exchange of experiences and best practices with colleagues from other countries and helped establish new contacts for future cooperation within the Erasmus+ programme and other international projects.
This participation represents another step forward in strengthening the international visibility of Virovitica University of Applied Sciences and contributes to enhancing the quality of education through international cooperation and the sharing of experience.
