Virovitica University of Applied Sciences marked an important milestone in its international activities by presenting a recognition award to student Laura Baksa for completing the institution’s 100th outgoing mobility under the Erasmus+ programme. This significant achievement highlights the University’s longstanding commitment to the internationalisation of higher education and to encouraging students to gain valuable international experience.
Student Laura Baksa completed a short-term Erasmus+ mobility as part of a Blended Intensive Programme (BIP) from December 1 to 5, 2025, at the partner institution UCLL University of Applied Sciences in Belgium, becoming the 100th participant in outgoing Erasmus+ mobility from Virovitica University of Applied Sciences.
On the occasion of receiving the recognition, the student stated:
“Participating in Erasmus+ mobility was an incredibly positive experience for me, and I feel proud to have had the opportunity to be part of the 100th outgoing mobility at Virovitica University of Applied Sciences. I’m glad I chose to take part in the mobility because I made new friends, exchanged experiences, and learned—through workshops and lectures—how to function in a multicultural environment. The knowledge and experiences I gained will stay with me even after I graduate. To students who are still hesitating about applying, I would say: go for it! It’s an experience that is definitely worth it and one you won’t regret.”
The Erasmus+ mobility programme has been implemented at Virovitica University of Applied Sciences continuously since 2014, within Key Action 1 – Learning Mobility of Individuals, through two types of projects: KA131 (cooperation with Programme Countries) and KA171 (cooperation with Partner Countries).
Through these projects, academic and non-academic staff of the University can participate in mobility for teaching (STA) or training (STT), while students can go on mobility for studies (SMS)—both long-term and short-term—or for traineeships (SMP).
Outgoing mobilities provide students and staff with the opportunity to gain new knowledge, develop professional, language, and intercultural skills, and enhance their personal and professional development. Achieving the 100th outgoing mobility further confirms the growing interest in the Erasmus+ programme and the high-quality institutional support provided by Virovitica University of Applied Sciences for international activities.
This milestone serves as a strong motivation to continue developing international cooperation and an encouragement to future generations of students and staff to take advantage of the many opportunities offered by the Erasmus+ programme.
