On Wednesday, 10 December 2025, at Virovitica University of Applied Sciences, guest lecturer Paul Thomas Finnerty, MSc, a certified TESOL teacher and Erasmus+ coordinator for Atlas Language School Dublin, held two workshops for students and one for teachers and staff in English.
At the workshops on the topic of ‘Irish Life and Culture’, students from all three years of Rural Tourism Management and students from the first and second years of Entrepreneurship and Informatics Management had the opportunity to learn many unusual facts about Irish culture, and to practice their language skills and communicate with a native English speaker in a relaxed atmosphere.
At the workshop ‘Travel and Survival English for Staff Doing Erasmus Mobilities’, teachers from VUAS and other institutions practised conversations useful for networking during Erasmus mobilities through role-playing tasks. At the end, the guest lecturer presented the Erasmus+ mobility opportunities for teachers and staff provided by Atlas Language School.
All participants showed great satisfaction with the held workshops and expressed hope that they will have the opportunity to participate in this form of education in the future. The teachers also expressed great interest in the Erasmus+ mobilities presented to them by the guest lecturer.
