As part of field instruction for the courses Integrated Management Systems and Integrated Management Systems in Tourism, second-year graduate students in the Management program—specializations in Small and Medium Enterprise Management and Destination Management—visited the company RASCO d.o.o. in Kalinovac on April 29, 2025. They were accompanied by lecturer Danijela Vakanjac, mag. oec., v.pred., and assistant Andrea Pavić, univ. mag. oec. RASCO is one of Europe’s leading manufacturers of professional road maintenance equipment. The purpose of the visit was to familiarize students with the real-world application of theoretical knowledge, with a particular focus on quality management systems and implemented ISO standards.
Following an introductory presentation on the company’s operations and development and a detailed overview of its management systems and ISO certifications, students were given a guided tour of the production halls. There, they observed the complex processes involved in manufacturing specialized vehicles and road maintenance equipment. The tour included concrete examples of quality management tools and methods and procedures for control, supervision, and ensuring the sustainability of established standards.
A particular emphasis was placed on the importance of an integrated management approach, where each system—from environmental and energy management to occupational safety—functions as part of a broader whole. RASCO operates in accordance with top international standards, including ISO 9001, ISO 14001, ISO 45001, and ISO 50001.
Guided by professionals, students actively engaged with questions and received informative answers. Their impressions after the visit were extremely positive, especially highlighting the value of linking theoretical knowledge with real-world practice. This experience provided a deeper understanding of business processes and emphasized the importance of continuous quality improvement.
With over 400 employees and exports to more than 40 countries, RASCO d.o.o. demonstrates how innovation, quality, and social responsibility can go hand in hand in creating a competitive advantage in the global market.
