We chose to do our internship through the Erasmus+ programme because the opportunity to gain professional experience abroad, with funding, was simply too good to pass up.
We found the internship after Boris participated in a youth exchange programme, also run through Erasmus+, which took place at Bockaberg Camp near Gothenburg, Sweden. He liked how the organization operated and asked the founders directly if they would accept us as interns. They said yes, and we started working for Well-being Lab.
The organization develops, writes, and implements Erasmus+ youth exchange projects, so our own Erasmus+ journey was taken to the next level.
We both worked as project coordination assistants. Our duties included helping ensure smooth project execution, meeting participants’ needs, solving logistical problems, organizing activities, writing reports, and more.
This role brought us invaluable experiences we likely wouldn’t have gained in Croatia. It was a cultural melting pot, developing intercultural communication, meeting amazing people, and even building friendships so strong that we now have places to stay if we ever travel to their countries.
We learned all about Erasmus+ youth exchange projects, made friends, and gained valuable connections in the Erasmus world. We worked with a great international team, speaking mostly English, which we also improved.
We saw firsthand the difference between business culture in Sweden and Croatia, and experienced what a caring, supportive team looks like, knowledge that will stay with us in our future careers.
We used a lot of what we had learned during our studies and saw how to apply it in the real world. This experience exceeded all our expectations.
We strongly encourage fellow students to take this chance, try doing your internship abroad through Erasmus+.
