PERMIT
Pursuant to the permit of Ministry of Science and Education (Class: UP/I-602-04/18-13/00002; Reg. No.: 533-04-18-0005) of 6 June 2018 and in accordance with a positive accreditation recommendation of the Agency for Science and Higher Education (Class:602-04/18-03/0002, Reg. No.: 355-02-04-18-0005) of 25 May 2018, starting with the academic year 2018/2019, the undergraduate professional study of Electrical Engineering – main field: Telecommunications and Information Technology is carried out at Virovitica College.
DURATION
Undergraduate professional study of Electrical Engineering – main field: Telecommunications and Information Technology, lasts six semesters. The study programme is worth 180 ECTS credits, which includes internship and submission of the undergraduate dissertation.
ACADEMIC TITLE
Upon completion of the undergraduate professional study of Electrical Engineering – main field: Telecommunications and Information Technology, the student is awarded the professional title and academic degree of:
Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering (bacc.ing.el.)
LEARNING OUTCOMES
- Applying relevant mathematical models in electrical engineering in a practical way.
- Identifying trends in ICT technologies, with a special accent on communications technologies, in domestic and foreign markets.
- Interpreting the principles of electronic components and circuits
- Interpreting the principles of computer networks, fundamental communication protocols and the protocol stack of the Internet network.
- Being familiar with the ‘classic’ telecommunications network, mobile networks and wireless networks.
- Establishing basic specific qualities and needs of operating systems Windows/Linux/Unix.
- Applying the principles of databases and SQL languages through creation, modelling, administration.
- Interpreting the basic principles of communications network design.
- Comparing the advantages of starting one’s own trade as opposed to starting a public limited company.
- Identifying the basic elements of a technical system on an example.
- Using physical models for solving concrete problems in the domain of electrical engineering.
- Using network monitoring tools and being familiar with network management techniques.
- Developing simple web projects, which include the basic knowledge of HTML, CSS, PHP and Javascript programming languages.
- Assessing which programming language, i.e. technology from MS Visual Studio Tools should be used to for solving a particular problem.
- Analysing the needs of the customer (exploring and detecting customer’s needs, currently available communications network components; examining technological limitations, specific spatial conditions, business environment and upgrading possibilities).
- Communicating with co-workers and customers in Croatian and English.
- Analysing the notion of security on examples of communications technologies.
- Being familiar with the paradigm of cloud computing.
- Establishing the possibility of wireless data transfer.
