As part of the Erasmus+ program for Training and Cooperation Activities (TCA), the Head of the Center for International Cooperation and Erasmus+ Coordinator, Danijela Vakanjac, participated in the international seminar “Bridging the Gap Between the Education Sector and the Industry,” organized by the Cypriot national agency. The event aimed to explore the role of higher education institutions and vocational education and training providers in aligning educational outcomes with labor market needs.
The seminar was conducted entirely in English and was held in Limassol, Cyprus, from December 3 to December 5, 2024. Around 60 participants from European countries attended, including representatives from higher education institutions, project coordinators, representatives of national agencies and government institutions, as well as vocational education providers. Through lectures, panel discussions, and workshops, the seminar addressed key challenges and potential solutions for bridging the gap between the skills graduates possess and the demands of employers.
During the seminar, experiences and best practices were shared with colleagues from other countries, and valuable contacts were established for future collaboration within the Erasmus+ program and other international projects.
This participation is yet another step in strengthening the international recognition of the University of Applied Sciences in Virovitica and contributes to improving the quality of education through international cooperation and the exchange of experiences.
