My second Erasmus+ experience began when I finally decided to apply for the next available call, after postponing it several times. I told myself that the next one was mine, no matter where it took me. After summer break, our Erasmus coordinator sent out a call for the first international staff week in Novo Mesto, Slovenia. I applied within 10 minutes, and everything became easier from there.
My stay in Slovenia was great. While we had daily responsibilities, there was enough free time for sightseeing and relaxation. I stayed in a hotel with colleagues from Poland and Turkey, and we spent most of our time together.
Communicating in Slovenia was easy, most people understand Croatian, so I especially appreciated the opportunity to practice my foreign language skills by socializing with international colleagues.
The host institution is a public university similar to ours, with some differences, but also many shared practices.
I strongly recommend participating in Erasmus+ mobility programmes. They offer excellent opportunities to meet new people and cultures, experience different work environments, and gain valuable professional experience.
