On Monday, December 1, 2025, Dr. Vlatka Šelimber Ivanec delivered a guest lecture titled “EU & You – Better Understanding Through Quality Communication” for students, faculty, and the wider interested public.
In her lecture, she reflected on the importance of quality and timely communication between citizens and European institutions, emphasizing that better understanding of decision-making processes encourages greater youth engagement in European policy. She presented practical examples from her work in the office of a Member of the European Parliament, and through personal experience explained the broad range of tasks performed by parliamentary assistants. At the end of the lecture, she provided students with valuable advice on opportunities for internships, scholarships, and traineeships within European Union institutions.
Dr. Vlatka Šelimber Ivanec is the owner of DIGI ART, a business focused on public relations and digital marketing. As an assistant to MEP Sunčana Glavak, she was responsible for communication, event management, and activity implementation in Croatia. She also served as an advisor in the Office of the Prime Minister of the Republic of Croatia – Public Relations Department, and has gained professional experience in public relations across the private, non-profit, and public sectors.
