Virovitica University of Applied Sciences had the great honor of hosting Sanja Krmić, a brave and inspiring individual who overcame a malignant disease. Sanja shared her story about battling Non-Hodgkin’s lymphoma, emphasizing how crucial stem cell donation is for saving lives.
Having undergone the leukapheresis procedure, where she was both a donor and recipient of her own stem cells, Sanja decided to share an important message with the public. In collaboration with the Ana Rukavina Foundation, she initiated an event for enrolling in the Croatian Registry of Voluntary Blood Stem Cell Donors in Virovitica.
The Ana Rukavina Foundation, known for its “The Cure is in Us” campaign, continuously organizes lectures and initiatives aimed at raising awareness of the importance of stem cell donation. This noble act enables individuals suffering from chronic bone marrow diseases and leukemia to continue their lives.
