All teachers and staff, and the interested general public, are invited to attend a guest lecture by Paul Thomas Finnerty, Erasmus+ Coordinator for Atlas Language School based in Dublin, Ireland.
The lecture will be held on Wednesday, 10 December 2025 at 1:30 p.m. in Hall 1-15 of Virovitica University of Applied Sciences.
The lecture on the topic ‘Travel and Survival English for Staff Doing Erasmus Mobilities’, which will last approximately 90 minutes, is intended for teachers and staff. It will be held in English and is a great opportunity to gain confidence in interacting in English during travel and Erasmus+ mobilities. As part of the lecture, the guest lecturer will also present the Erasmus+ opportunities offered to teachers by the language school where he is employed.

The lecture on the topic ‘Irish Life and Culture’ is intended primarily for 1st, 2nd and 3rd year students of the module Rural Tourism Management and for 1st and 2nd year students of the modules Entrepreneurship and Informatics Management. The lecture will be held in English and is a great opportunity to gain new knowledge about Irish culture (history, music, sports and mythology) and interact with a native speaker.
Paul Thomas Finnerty, MSc, obtained a TESOL (Teaching English to Speakers of Overseas Languages) degree from the University of St Andrews. For many years, he has been teaching English and preparing candidates for international English language exams. He speaks Spanish, Italian, Portuguese, French, and Polish and has extensive experience in teacher education, curriculum design, and organisation and management of summer schools. Currently, as Erasmus+ coordinator for Atlas Language School based in Dublin, he visits schools and higher education institutions across Europe, educating teachers and coordinating Erasmus+ courses for teachers and staff.
